Trondheim is the 3rd biggest city in Norway with 180.000 residents plus 25.000 students. It has always been a strong music city, with a big alternative rock scene. The last years Trondheim have become more known for it’s growing scene in other genres like indie, jazz, electronica, shoe gaze etc. Trondheim has one of Norway´s leading higher educations in Jazz and Music technology, and has fostered many of Norway’s most known Jazz-musicians for decades.
As the first Scandinavian festival of the year, Trondheim Calling will have more than 100 concerts and seminars, including bands as Death By Unga Bunga , Einar Stray, Eye Emma Jedi, Farao, Heroes & Zeros, INVSN, Intertwine, Kaja Gunnufsen, LoveLoveLove, Ludvig Moon, Rumble In Rhodos, Spidergawd, The Fjords, Tremoro Tarantura and many others. Among the conference names is a Q&A with Dennis Lyxzén from the legendary Swedish hardcoreband Refused.
Nordic by Nature invites 4 influential blogs/ magazines from Germany (Noisey, nothingbuthopeandpassion, electru, Norr Magazine) in cooperation with Trondheim Calling and will guide them at the festival. Trondheim Calling is promoted through all Nordic by Nature media channels. Nordic by Nature Steffi is djing one night at the festival and will as well appear in a panel.
